  • Beginner Piano With a Good Book

    If you are beginner piano and want to be a real pianist, a selection of good piano books is really a necessity. You can spend as much time as you want to practicing scales, but it is simply not enough. If all that you do is practice your scales, you will probably get bored with playing piano, and when you get bored, your playing will suffer.

    To keep interested in piano try playing songs that you enjoy. It will be more fun and allot more interesting. It is important to keep your attention and it will show in your music.

    There are so many good piano books out there for piano learning regardless of your preferences. You can find books from jazz to classical and everywhere in the middle. Staying interested is important.

    I prefer an assortment of piano books. I have all the classical masters but I also broaden my library to include jazz, hip hop and other more popular songs. I am an entertainer and I must entertain now don’t I. It is really a gas to play at family functions and for friends. It is helpful when they make requests that I know a wide variety of musics.

    Don’t shy away from music that you don’t like. You need a wide variety of a styles and genre to be able to please the crowd. Who knows, maybe you will get to like Mamma’s Little Baby Love Shorten Bread! I even own piano books filled with songs that I don’t even much care for.

    When you have studied enough books about piano and looked at enough songs you will begin to get that you don’t even need sheet music to play. You develop an eye to go with your ear. You will hear something on the radio and be able to plunk it out before you know it. The ah-ah moment will eventually come for your as it did for me.

    After a while music will just play in your head. You will hear a song just once and you will see the notes in your mind. If you want to duplicate what you see in your head then you will need the sheet music. You will be able to visualize how it was arranged by then. But you will probably want to create your own sound. When this happens you will not need your books anymore.

    Your time and effort will be rewarded by beautiful piano playing. Do not give it up. It is a life long devotion that has gotten me to play what I love.

    Relaxation plays in a key roll in leading a healthy happy life. Without relaxation it is difficult to stay on task, make good decisions, and be productive. These people are mistaken, relaxation can happen at home, in the office or while driving. The key is to train the mind to relax.

    There are many ways in which you can relax. Finding your method is really your biggest obstacle, but it is easy, just think about what you enjoy most. Maybe you like listening to music, reading, meditating or walking. Any of these activities can be a relaxation method and can be scaled down to as little as ten minutes.

    Something simple like watching TV, listening to music, surfing the web and reading offer a break from regular day to day situations. Books can create a world completely different from your own as can a good movie or song. Each of these activities help your mind escape into a visually exciting place.

    Meditation can help you learn to control your body’s reaction to stress through reflection and deep breathing exercises. These techniques must be learned and practiced regularly to insure maximum results. You can achieve full relaxation through ten minutes of meditation, and most people have ten minutes to spare in their busy lives.

    Other people prefer to hit the gym to relax. Some like to run, walk or lift weights. Others might prefer a cycling, kick boxing or tai chi class. Running and walking burn off excessive built up energy, however not everyone wants to run a marathon. For them there are other sorts of classes which sole purpose is relaxation such as yoga. Many people choose to skip the classes and gym all together and simply walk their dogs in the park.

    Your body will tell you what it likes and what it doesn’t like, you just need to learn to listen. Take note of what worked and what didn’t while you were practicing different relaxing techniques. If one doesn’t work don’t be afraid to try a different approach. Make sure to keep yourself motivated by reminding yourself you will be healthier and happier in the end and think how nice it is to do something enjoyable.

    Learning something new is always a challenge however once you get the hang of it, it is like riding a bike, your body won’t forget how. It is important to find an activity which you enjoy and know you will stick with, but you must make a conscious effort to remind and train your body to relax while performing this task. It may take time, but in the end the rewards will be worth it.

    Let’s pretend you wanted form a habit. And not just some wimpy habit, but a major, mind controlling, and life changing habit behavior. Where do you start to make it a really strong habit that will feel impossible to break? There are three basic ways we learn habits; emotions, authority figures, and repetition.

    Let’s use an example.

    Now, let’s pick a person for our example. How about you when you were 10-14 years old. And for this example, let’s use the habit of smoking.

    When you were in that age range we can assume you were learning about your life and how you fit into it. You may not have felt as sure about yourself.

    Maybe you felt self-conscious, dependent on others, powerless, not good enough, or something like these. We’ll refer to this as feeling “bad”. Now, this does not necessarily mean you felt miserable, but did you feel as “good” as you wanted to feel? Did you feel as “good” as you believed other people felt?

    Possibly, (probably) not. Which would mean you wanted to feel better, or at least as good as you thought other people feel. What would make you feel better? That depends on the influences in your life to that point.

    How does a person learn things like that? Emotions, authority figures and repetition. You probably saw authority figures smoking – parents, family, friends, role models, and of course, advertisements. Smoking is perceived as tough, strong, independent, self-assured, and unique. All the “good” feelings you were feeling a lack of.

    This would start a feeling in your mind, the beginning of a craving. A part of you that believes smoking is what your life needs to fix the bad feeling. Not just in a “knowing” way, but a “feeling” way. This concept will make the most sense to someone whom has tried to quit any strong habit, you know your “feelings” are stronger than your “knowing” any day.

    Then you tried your first cigarette, and chances are that you weren’t so good at smoking. That would come with practice.

    Time passes and you continue to reinforce the emotional associations with your triggers. If you feel tired, stressed or angry, you want to smoke to get that refreshing “ahhhh” feeling.

    People that have tried to quit smoking have spent a lot of time analyzing their habit, fighting themselves for control of cravings. But, you didn’t learn the smoking habit with the thinking and analyzing part of your mind, so why try to use that part of your mind to change the habit?

    It makes a whole lot of sense to quit smoking using the same methods you started smoking with. A “hypnotized” state of mind combined with emotions, authority figures and repetition. Also known as: modern hypnosis.

    You, like everyone, have memories that can affect how you feel. You can remember a happy memory and feel a bit of the happy emotion. Just as you can remember a sad memory and feel the sadness.

    Our mind stores all of our memories and they’re always active, just not in a way our conscious mind is aware of. Because of this, we can constantly be affected by the emotions in our memories. Even memories you don’t think you ‘remember’.

    Memories with traumatic emotions can cause disorders like post-traumatic stress and depression. They can also cause other disruptions in your life like problems with anger, fears, and stress.

    Medication commonly prescribed for relief of these issues, but it only attempts to address the ’symptoms’ rather than address the cause. The problem is rarely ‘fixed’ with medication.

    The key to long term help with these issues would appear to be the emotional association with the memory. What would happen if that association could be erased, reduced or even changed?

    There is research using a medication called propranolol that can be used as an “amnesia drug”. The purpose is to directly disrupt the connection between our memories and the emotions they are associated with.

    Described in the Journal of Psychiatric Research, they talk about psychiatrists at McGill University and Harvard University using the drug to disrupt the memories of trauma victims. The drug reduces the emotional connection with the memory while leaving the conscious part of the memory.

    This resulted in people that can remember the memory, but have a sense of detachment or dissociation from the event. The permanence of this process and potential side effects are not yet known.

    There are also ways to reduce and change the emotions associated with memories. These processes are well established and have no side-effects.

    In particular, hypnosis. Hypnosis seems better suited for this process since, when in hypnosis, you are using the emotional part of your mind. This is very evident when working with traumatic memories from childhood. When re-experiencing memories from childhood a person often ‘feels’ younger than their current age. You tend to experience memories with the same age of mind that you originally experienced the situation.

    When using modern hypnosis to re-experience a traumatic memory, the hypnotist needs to be properly trained for the process to be quick and effective. When these conditions are met, the client can experience the memory with the perspective of adulthood. This alone will often reduce or negate the emotions involved.

    This process is essentially about gaining perspective on the experience and the client’s part in the experience. This process will often create a sense of distance and separation from the memory. A memory, minus the negative emotions.

    For every disease there are some risk factors it is same with breast cancer. There are some risk factors which are not under the control of a person and some risk factors are those which depend on the life style of a person.

    First I want to write about the factors which cannot be changed, if you are a woman your risk of getting breast cancer is automatically increased. Women are at a greater risk of getting breast cancer as the breast cells are persistently exposed to hormones like estrogen and progesterone. Men can also suffer from breast cancer but breast cancer in men is a very rare case.

    The female hormones progesterone and estrogen are responsible for breast cancer. Female who takes hormone therapy after menopause have a higher risk of breast cancer.

    One more factor aging but you cannot control this factor. Females who are involved in physical activity have less chance to develop breast cancer as compare to those females who have sedentary life style. There is no clear about except alcohol and cigarette consumption.

    Higher alcohol consumption increases a person’s risk of developing breast cancer. Studies show that a person who drinks alcoholic beverages three or more times a day doubles her risk of breast cancer. By limiting alcohol consumption, a person will also lower her risk of developing breast cancer.

    You have a higher risk of suffering breast cancer if you have one or more family members who have developed breast or ovarian cancer themselves. The more members of your immediate family suffering from breast cancer, the greater your risk of developing the disease. If this is the situation, be keen on doing monthly self examination.

    There are many things in life worrying about, but stress should not be one of them. Stress is like disease which sucks the fun out of everything. Stress cause sleep deprivation, lose interest in activities you once found entertaining, and stress can also cause your work performance to suffer.

    Many people think stress is caused from things such as financial problems, marital problems or family issues. This is not always the case, stress can be happy events such as a wedding, children, or a vacation. Stress is about perception. What is stressful for one may not be for another. Many times we blow things out of proportion and therefore causing more un-necessary stress in our lives. Stress, whether good or bad can lead to other very serious problems.

    Stress has been linked to medical problems such as chronic headaches, age acceleration, lower immune system, heart attacks, and stomach problems, just to name a few. Many people under stress are also short tempered, grouchy, anxious and jumpy.

    The good news is stress is manageable. By learning to manage stress, you will find that you look forward to meeting new people, regain your sense of humor and self confidence. You will also find you are more relaxed, calmer, and have increased energy. You may even find renewed excitement with recreational activities and have more independence.

    Stress is all about perception. What is stressful for one may not be for another. When learning to cope with stress, you must look at perception as well.     Conrad Johnson’s headquaters are in Virginia and they are a name synonomous with high quality audio. CJ was the brainchild of Doctors’ Lewis Johnson and William Conrad and was incorporated in 1977. The first amplifier that they produced was a vacuum tube preamplifier named the PV-1.

    Conrad Johnson is synonymous with quality with price tags that certainly reflect that, although many audio enthusiasts feel the money is very well spent indeed. One of their flagship amplifiers is the Twelve Tube monoblock power amplifier, so listening in stereo will set you back close to 7 grand.

    The Conrad Johnson Twelve tube has a refined sleek look with a brushed brass finish. It has some relatively straight forward circuitry and a large output transformer. This allows a wide bandwidth and high phase linearity. It’s nothing too spectacular, but it doesn’t need to be. This amplifier has earnt its followers through its performance rather than style.

    So what of the performance? Well this Conrad Johnson overall sound is very rich and open with a lush transparency, excellent mids and a deep punch like bass and an excellence at high frequencies. It completes the transitions between frequency extremes perfectly through the mid and upper ranges, which are often very difficult.

    Some tube amplifiers can struggle with transients usually when playing pop and rock however the Conrad Johnson Twelve sounds coherent throughout one of the very best I have ever heard.

It is very rugged and is very unlikely to give you any problems down the years which is the peace of mind you need when making a purchase at this level.
